Library Staff Summer School In-Person

Do you work at an academic library and would you like to take a look behind the scenes at Tilburg University Library? We are pleased to welcome you to Tilburg University for our three-day Library Summer School, focused on knowledge sharing, collaboration, and professional networking. During these days, participants will engage in presentations, workshops and discussions exploring challenges and best practices in academic librarianship.
There are no costs for attending. Lunch will be provided for each full day. Registration is possible for one, two or all days. A maximum of 15  registrations are accepted per day.

Places are limited so please sign up before the closing date of June 22nd. 

Agenda:

Day one explores how Tilburg University Library supports researchers. The talks will cover institutional repositories and research data management services as well as Open Access publishing and Open Science initiatives. The focus of the first day will be on collaboration across library teams and institutions, with opportunities to discuss challenges and approaches in supporting researchers and scholarly communication.

The second day looks at innovation within academic libraries, combining policy, technology, and user experience. Participants will hear about the process of developing Tilburg University Library’s strategy and policies. There will also be interactive activities such as the Library Cluedo Game, and an exploration of AI applications including chatbot services and digital support tools for library professionals.

The final programme day focuses on special collections and the Brabant Collection, one of the university’s distinctive heritage collections. The day will consist of presentations,  a library tour and a workshop, where participants will be invited to discuss how digitization of special collections influences access and visibility.
